Right in the heart of Paris, just moments from Place du Trocadéro, you’ll find Le Dokhan’s hotel. This hidden gem is full of unique charm, and fast became our slice of peace in amongst the busy city. Decorated by Frederic Mechiche, you’ll embark a journey through time the moment you step into the lobby.
Located in a 1910 Belle Epoque building, Le Dokhan’s is an intimate hotel with irresistible charm. Upon stepping through the front doors, you’ll be greeted by Le Dokhan’s signature scent, the delicate fragrance of a wood-burning fire, especially crafted for the hotel.
Once inside, relax for a moment in the elegant and inviting living room, and admire the antiques and artworks that are scattered around the private residence. The Parisian owner committed to sourcing original and unique decor. Keep an eye out for the paintings by Matisse and Picasso, but also stop to view the parquet floors and wainscoting from a 17th-century château.
The Location
The prime location is one of the many reasons to love Le Dokhan’s. Situated right in the heart of Paris, in the 16th arrondissement, it’s just a short walk from the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe and the Champs-Elysées. It’s halfway between Place du Trocadéro (where you can take the best Eiffel Tower photos) and Place Victor Hugo. Despite the central location, the hotel itself is located in a quiet area.
The Rooms
The 45 rooms and suites are designed in the style of typical Parisian apartments. The rooms are bright and spacious, with many offering office areas and comfortable living rooms. Relax on the sofa as you gaze out onto views of the city’s rooftops.
The Elevator
One thing you can’t miss when visiting Le Dokhan’s is the elevator, which is made from a genuine vintage Louis Vuitton steamer trunk. Whilst going up to your floor, stop to admire the classic monogrammed canvas, wooden uprights and timeworn studs. The elevator is such a unique experience, and nostalgically recalls a time when travel was an art, something that Le Dokhan’s still reminds us of.
The Champagne Bar
No visit to Le Dokhan’s would be complete without a visit to the champagne bar. Created by Sommelier Matthias Breton, it’s home to the city’s largest champagne menu, boasting 240 options to choose from. You’ll find everything from Dom Pérignon and Moët-Hennessy to family estates little-known to the general public.
You can also order caviar, foie gras and other Maison Petrossian’s specialties. If you’re not into champagne, you can relax here in the morning and enjoy your breakfast, as it also doubles as the breakfast room. Take a seat in the plush green velvet armchairs whilst sipping on a Mariage Frère tea and enjoying some delicious pastries.
Enjoy your stay in Paris!
