Known for its effortless and sophisticated modern elegance, Saint Laurent is a brand that has so many beautiful and classic designer bags – it can be hard to choose just one that you want to buy! YSL bags are a big purchase, so you want to make sure you’re buying something remains timeless and can be worn all year, no matter the season.
I often get questions about which is the best YSL bag – the YSL WOC bag (wallet on Chain) or the Saint Laurent Kate bag. Both are such great and timeless bags (which is why I still have them both in my collection) but fit slightly different amounts and are different prices. Both of these are factors to consider when making your purchase.

SAINT LAURENT WALLET ON CHAIN BAG
The Saint Laurent Wallet on Chain was one of my first designer purchases and I talk about it in my post on the Best Designer Crossbody Bags to Invest In. What I love about it is that it can definitely be an evening bag as well as a daytime bag, and the chain detaches so you have the option of using it as a clutch for those more formal events. The leather is also very durable and can easily be wiped clean if it does get dirty. I’ve had mine for years and it still looks almost as good as new – it’s a piece that will definitely last you for a long time!
SAINT LAURENT KATE BAG
Another great little Saint Laurent bag, this one is larger and fits a tiny bit more than the Wallet on Chain, but can still definitely be worn cross body, along with on the shoulder. I talk about it in my post on the The Best Designer Bags to Invest in 2022. The leather is also really durable so it wears well over time. It’s a bag that really does go with anything, day or night!
