Recently on our trip to NZ South Island, we had the pleasure of staying at The Mayfair, Christchurch’s Newest Boutique Luxury Hotel.
A fresh take on modern luxury accommodation, The Mayfair is bursting with contemporary charm. It’s a modern, boutique hotel that offers spacious rooms, attentive service, and a relaxed environment.
Located just a short walk from the Christchurch Botanical Gardens, Hagley Park and the city centre, The Mayfair definitely needs to be on your radar when looking at where to stay in Christchurch.
The rooms are spacious and functional, with floor to ceiling windows that open to fresh air and offer lots of natural light. Relax with comfy bath robes and slippers, indulge in the minibar, and enjoy the luxurious Byredo amenities.
If you’re lucky enough to stay in one of the beautiful suites, they come with complimentary mini bar snacks, a welcome drink in the cocktail bar, along with unlimited barista made coffee and tea for the duration of your stay. The bathrooms also feature Dyson hairdryers, and you can borrow a Dyson hair straighter to use when you need it (along with yoga mats and other amenities).
Downstairs next to the lobby entrance is Majestic at Mayfair, where you’ll find some seriously delicious (and instagram-worthy) food and drinks. You can get everything from coffee and cocktails, to breakfast, high tea and dinner. It’s a lovely place to relax with a drink, or indulge in a leisurely brunch.
During the day, take a short walk to Hagley Park, before heading down to the Botanical Gardens. When you’re hungry for your next meal, walk along New Regent Street for some food and shopping.
In the evenings, enjoy a cocktail at Majestic at Mayfair, where from late afternoon, it becomes a vibrant cocktail bar & kitchen. The vibes and bespoke cocktails are amazing – the perfect end to the day!
