Whilst trends come and go, timeless and classic pieces will remain in a wardrobe for years. Curating a collection of staple pieces that will transcend current trends will set you up with all the right foundations, allowing you to add the occasional seasonal piece here and there to mix and match with.
1. The Investment Bag
A bag would have to be my number one piece to invest in. They are such beautiful pieces that are used often and will last for years. When buying a bag, I always opt for a neutral colour (mostly black) so that it goes with nearly everything. Whilst a mini bag obviously won’t fit as much as a larger bag, most, like this Saint Laurent one, also double as a clutch (the chain is removable) so they’re perfect for both day and evening. Two birds, one stone.
2. The Blouse
Timeless and classic, a good quality blouse has you covered for both the office and off duty. I love the detailing on this Karen Millen blouse and it’s definiltey something that I know will be in my wardrobe for a long time.
3. The Jean
Investing in versatile separates is always a good idea. They can be mixed and matched with other pieces in your wardrobe and worn again and again without being overly noticeable. The perfect jean can be hard to find, so when you find a style and fit that you love, snap it up!
4. The Boot
It doesn’t get any more classic that a good pair of boots. Boots are a staple in any wardrobe and a quality pair, although on the pricer side, will last you through the years and can be paired with almost anything.
5. The Coat
A winter outerwear essential, a beautiful coat will never go out of style and will last for years. Look for a wool blend for warmth and a classic design that will take you from season to season.
