If a trip to Singapore isn’t on your cards, it should be! Whether you’re in Singapore for a weekend or a week, be sure to bookmark this guide for your next trip!
STAY
Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong – This beautiful boutique hotel is only a 15 minute drive from Changi Airport and is located in the Katong neighbourhood. Much like the Katong neighbourhood, the hotel’s unique design is infused with the local Peranakan culture. My downtime was spent lounging by the rooftop infinity pool soaking up some sun and beautiful views, hitting up the 24-hour fitness centre and exploring Katong. The neighbourhood is close to the peaceful beauty of the waterfront and just a short drive away from the Downtown Core. There’s also a scenic cycle path close by that runs along the water. If it’s nice weather, start the morning off with an easy bike ride into Downtown (if you’re going to exercise, you may as well do it with a view!).
I love staying in boutique hotels because they offer such a unique, memorable experience and are usually in interesting, conveniently located neighbourhoods. Being a beauty lover (no surprise here), I always take note of the amenities in hotel rooms. Hotel Indigo’s rooms are complete with Australian-made Biology Smart Skincare. A much-loved brand of mine (you can purchase full size versions of their products here), Biology combines active native plant DNA complexes, aromatic essential oils and antioxidants to promote optimum skin and hair health. Plus, their products just smell so damn good (you at least need the body butter in your life!).

EAT
Baba Chews Bar and Eatery – Featuring locally-sourced, seasonal ingredients and conveniently located next to Hotel Indigo, at Baba Chews you’ll find a menu of traditional and modern cuisines from places that have influenced Peranakan cooking. I always love trying local cuisines when I travel, and, from the food to the decor and ambience, this place definiltey didn’t disappoint! If you enjoy a drink, they also have a great cocktail menu.
Katong Neighbourhood – There’s an abundance of amazing food in Katong, just a short walk away from Hotel Indigo. Try Chin Mee Chin Confectionary for some seriously authentic food (get there when it opens to avoid the queues). Famous for its kaya buns, this old-school cafe has authentic food and a charming, retro vibe thanks to it’s tiled floor and marble-top tables. Be sure to get your hands (and mouth) on the kaya toast and homemade cakes.
CÉ LA VI at Marina Bay Sands – If you feel like treating yourself (and why shouldn’t you?) head to CÉ LA VI for a night of amazing food, incredible panoramic views and luxury.
Baba Chews
SHOP
Katong Neighbourhood – Katong is packed full of cute boutiques and old-school authentic shops you won’t find in Downtown, all a short walking distance apart. In between shopping, pass by the beautiful conserved terrace houses on East Coast Road for some photo ops. For some amazing fashion and homeware finds, head to Egg3 at 164 East Coast Road and Cat Socrates at 448 Joo Chiat Road (both a short walk from each other and Hotel Indigo).
The Shoppes Marina Bay Sands – This beautiful mall contains every shop your luxury-loving heart can desire. With its central water feature and stunning architecture, this shopping mall is a must see (even if you’re just going to window shop)! After shopping, make your way up to the 57th story to soak in some amazing views of the bay.
Orchard Road – For some megamall shopping experiences, head along the 2.2 kilometre stretch of Orchard Road. Designer lovers, be sure to browse the stores in ION Orchard, a pristine complex that will have all your favourite designers and more.
Suntec City – One of Singapore’s largest malls, Suntec City boasts home to around 300 shops, a cinema and a huge central fountain (which lights up in the evening for a nice show). Here you’ll find a great variety of fashion, cosmetics, homewares, lifestyle and electronic stores.

SEE
Gardens By The Bay – Located in the bay area, this futuristic park offers a beautiful skywalk over the three waterfront gardens. Don’t miss the Cloud Forest with it’s impressive indoor waterfall and 35 metre tall mountain covered in a beautiful array of plants and flowers.
Chinatown – Although touristy, Chinatown is a must-see for any Singapore newbies. Head there in the evening for night markets, traditional shops and a feed.
Haji Lane – A tucked away alley in the Kampong Glam neighbourhood, Haji lane is home to super cute converted shophouses that are now home to boutiques and vintage stores. The colourfull wall paintings makes this place a great photo op too!
Bugis Street Market – Head to the hustle and bustle that is Bugis Street Market to hunt for some bargains at some of the 800 plus stalls.
Sentosa Island – If you find yourself with a free day, hop on the cable car to Sentosa Island to explore the beach, S.E.A. Aquarium, Universal Studios, water parks and shops.
Singapore Botanic Gardens – If you’re a nature lover, be sure to check out the beautiful botanic gardens. They’re free and open every day of the year from 5am to midnight.
Clarke Quay – Take an evening walk along Clarke Quay, a riverside development that’s packed with bars, restaurants and shops.

You have no idea how much I’ve loved this post hun! From the beautiful and pristine pool overlooking the city, to the clean minimalistic design of the room (with a fun pop of graffiti), Hotel Indigo sounds like a great place within proximity to attractions within that vicinity! I would love to take a relaxing day hanging out at Gardens by the Bay; adding all these places to my bucket list! Happy weekend love! :) xo~ Lena
