There’s something special about wearing a luxurious perfume. Not only do perfumes add that finishing touch to your look, they really do awaken the senses and transport you to another place.
Splurging on a luxury perfume, whether it’s for an event, a holiday, or a new signature scent to wear on the daily, can definitely be pricey, so you want to be sure it’s one you really love. From the packaging, to the scent, to the price point; there are so many perfumes on the market right now, with new ones being released constantly.
Tried and tested, I’ve rounded up some beautiful luxury perfumes that are worth your money!
6 Best Luxury Perfumes for Women
Creed Aventus for Her
If you’ve been thinking about picking up a fragrance from luxury fragrance company Creed, definitely give Creed Aventus for Her a try. Often voted one of the best luxury perfumes for her, it’s a beautiful, unique scent that is inspired by some of history’s most powerful women, as well as modern women everywhere who confidently shatter glass ceilings.
Creed is based in Paris and is a privately held luxury fragrance company that has been passed down from father to son since it was founded in 1760. The perfume house is dedicated to the creation of highly original fragrances of extravagant quality and is currently guided by Olivier Creed and his son Erwin Creed.
Top notes of Green Apple, Violet, Pink Berries, Patchouli, Bergamot and Lemon, heart notes of Styrax, Sandalwood Mysore and Musk, and base notes of Peach, Cassis, Lilac, Amber and Ylang, Ylang.
Louis Vuitton – Apogée Fragrance
Louis Vuitton, together with their master perfumer Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud, has produced a collection of seven luxury fragrances, all housed in beautiful understated glass bottles.
My favourite of the lot is Apogée, a beautiful and fresh lily of the valley scent and one of the best luxury perfumes for women. Lily of the valley enlaces with petals of jasmine, magnolia and rose, with a base of subtly smoky guaiac wood and sandalwood essence. This perfume lasts so long on the skin, and is my go-to for a fresh and light everyday scent, perfect for use in the warmer months.
If, like me, you love personalisation, you can also get your initials engraved onto the bottle which I think makes such a nice gift idea! Available in 100ml or 200ml bottles, along with travel sized sets.
Notes of Lily of the valley accord, Jasmine from Grasse, Magnolia from China, Gaiac wood and Sandalwood essence.
Tom Ford Black Orchid
A cult-classic scent, this luxurious perfume has a timeless sensual appeal which earns it a spot as one of the best luxury fragrances. Modern and timeless, Black Orchid is complete with rich, dark accords and an alluring potion of custom-grown black orchids, and spice.
The beauty of this fragrance doesn’t stop at the scent – it’s bottled in fluted, jet black-glass, making an unforgettable statement of style and glamour.
Notes of Black Truffle, Black Orchid, Black Plum, Noir Gourmand Accord and Patchouli.
Byredo Mojave Ghost
Inspired by the beautiful Mojave Ghost Flower of the Mojave desert, this warm floral fragrance is perfect for those warmer months. This fragrance pays tribute to the resilient Mojave Ghost Flower and its ability to thrive year after year. I talked about this fragrance in my post on the Best Summer Fragrances, and it’s still a firm favourite!
Byredo was founded in 2006 by Ben Gorham who began to be intrigued by scent and memory after travelling to his mother’s hometown in India, where he was stirred by the aromas of spices and incense. Byredo’s scented candles and perfumes have been developed with an understated approach, using simple composition of the highest quality raw materials.
Another personal Byredo fragrance favourite is Gypsy Water.
Top notes of Ambrette and Jamaican Nesberry, heart notes of Magnolia, Sandalwood and Violet, and base notes of Cedarwood, Chantilly Musk and Crisp Amber.
Jo Malone Peony & Blush Suede Cologne
A quintessential floral fragrance, this cologne is both elegant and devastatingly seductive. Bursting with floral notes of peony with delicate rose and honey accents and a subtle, green freshness, melted perfectly with red apple and a softness of suede, complementing the floral opulence of the peony and bringing enticing sensuality to the fragrance.
Also available in a Home Candle and Body & Hair Oil.
Top note of red apple, heart note of peony, and base note of suede.
Carolina Herrera Good Girl
Good Girl is a sensual, evocative fragrance that is inspired by Carolina Herrera’s unique vision of the duality of the modern woman: audacious and sexy, elegant and enigmatic, good and bad. The mysterious sensuality of Good Girl makes for a modern yet sophisticated fragrance.
With the bottle in the form of a high heel, this has to be one of my favourite perfumes to display. Heels are the ultimate symbol of power, igniting passions with their extreme sensuality, and Good Girl combines haute couture aesthetics with technical expertise. As Carolina Herrera de Báez says, “Give a girl the right shoe and she can conquer the world.”
The complex duality of modern femininity is captured in this multifaceted perfume. Both freshly light and moodily dark, the sweet, alluring qualities of jasmine give the fragrance its brightness and femininity, while richly fragrant cocoa and intoxicating tonka create a darker side. Almond and coffee bring the scent its immediate vibrancy and Tuberose brings fluidity and femininity.
Notes of almond, Tuberose, Jasmin Sambac, Tonka Bean and Cocoa.
