MAC is a brand that has been in my makeup collection for a long, long time. I actually used to work at MAC back in the day! Known best for their lipsticks, MAC has such a large range of products on the market now.
Tried and tested, here are the best MAC Cosmetics products to add to your collection.

MAC COSMETICS PRO LONGWEAR PAINT POT
Almost every time I do my eyeshadow, I reach for a MAC Paint Pot first! They’re a long-wearing blendable cream shadow and work wonderfully as an eyeshadow base (although they can also be worn alone).
The MAC Paint Pots are highly pigmented and are creamy when you first apply them, before drying down. They apply so smoothly and seamlessly, and never look cakey or heavy. These Paint Pots also stay put all day, especially when you apply an eyeshadow on top to set them down. To apply, simply smooth over the eyelid with your finger or a brush.
These Paint Pots come in so many amazing shades. My staples are Soft Ochre, which is great to remove any discolouration on the eyelid and create a base for you eyeshadow, and Groundwork, which is a great everyday neutral taupe shade. Layin’ Low is also an amazing everyday eyeshadow shade.
MAC COSMETICS MINERALIZE SKINFINISH NATURAL POWDER
I’ve been using the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish powder for years. It’s such a beautiful setting powder, and you can also use it by itself as a mineral foundation.
The MAC Mineralize Skinfinish powder is a slow-baked powder with a multi-mineral complex that provides a natural, dimensional finish. It does a great job at setting foundation without making the skin look too matte, as it contains low-level pearlized pigments that provide a dimensional yet natural-satin finish. I also love using a darker shade as a contouring powder, because it looks so natural on the skin.
MAC COSMETICS EXTENDED PLAY GIGABLACK LASH
This is the best mascara for lower lashes! The wand is small, so it’s really easy to reach even the tiniest lashes, and it never smudges or flakes throughout the day. It’s definitely the best MAC mascara that I’ve tried.
The formula is lightweight and waterproof, and it’s perfect for creating beautiful defined lashes. It’s long-wearing and lasts up to 16 hours, but it’s still easy to remove thanks to an innovative thermal-sensitive technology.
The slim brush reaches and grips those smaller lash hairs and coats them in the blackest black colour. This is a great mascara for defining lashes.
MAC COSMETICS POWDER BLUSH
MAC blushes were some of the first blushes that I ever purchased, and I still love the shades and formulas just as much today. MAC blushes are pigmented, apply evenly, and are easy to blend. They also last really well throughout the day. Definitely one of the best MAC Cosmetics products!
There are so many different MAC blush shades and formulas out there now, but there are a few timeless staples that are always in my collection. What are the best MAC blushes? My go-to’s are Melba (soft coral-peach), Peaches (a gorgeous pink-peach), and Blushbaby (a beige pink that’s looks great on cooler skin tones). Warm Soul is also a cult-classic MAC blush, and is one of the Mineralize blush formulas. It’s a beautiful beige shade with gold pearl reflects.
MAC COSMETICS LIP PENCIL
There are so many iconic shades in the MAC Cosmetics lip pencils. I love to use the lip pencils to fill in the whole lip, then apply either a lipstick or a lip balm over the top.
My staple lip pencil shades are Boldly Bare (a light beige pink), Stripdown (a creamy brown beige), Subculture (beige pink), and Soar (a mid tone cool mauve). All of these are beautiful neutral shades, but there are lots of vibrant and bright shades too.
MAC COSMETICS STUDIO FIX CONTOUR PALETTE
This is one of the newer items in my MAC Cosmetics collection, and one I find myself reaching for so often. This palette contains three matte contouring powders and three subtle highlighting powders to sculpt and enhance your features.
The highlighting shades are very natural looking, and contain soft-focus technology to softly reflect light. The contouring shades are nice and buildable, so you can create something super natural looking, or a more defined look. It’s available in two shades for different skin tones.
MAC COSMETICS PREP + PRIME FIX+
Another MAC Cosmetics best seller, this lightweight hydrating mist is packed with vitamins and minerals. It’s infused with a blend of green tea, chamomile and cucumber to gently soothe and refresh the skin. It’s an amazing product to prep the skin with before makeup application. It’s also lovely to refresh makeup with during the day, and take away any powdery looking finish.
Fix+ can also be use to intensify eyeshadows. Simply dip your brush into your eye shadow or pigment and mist the brush before applying to your eyelids. Available in a variety of scents and finishes, although my favourite is still the original!
MAC COSMETICS LIPSTICK
I feel like every beauty lover has at some point had a MAC lipstick or two in their collection, but if you haven’t tried a MAC lipstick before, you’re missing out! Lipsticks are probably the product MAC became the most well-known for, and there are so many cult-classic MAC lipstick shades.
This is a big category, as there are so many different finishes and shades available now, but I’ll list out some staples that you really can’t go wrong with!
Valvet Teddy: A deep-tone beige with a matte finish. A great everyday lipstick shade.
Kinda Sexy: A neutral pinky-rose with a matte finish.
Honeylove: A light beige with a matte finish.
Modesty: A neutral pink with a creamesheen finish.
Mehr: A mid-tone mauve pink with a matte finish.
Brave: A pink beige with a satin finish.
Lady Danger: A vivid bright coral-red with a matte finish.
Ruby Woo: A vivid blue-toned red with a matte finish.
MAC COSMETICS MINERALIZE SKINFINISH
Who remembers MAC Soft & Gentle? I brought it back out of my collection recently and still love it just as much as I used to years ago! The Mineralize Skinfinish powders are formulated with MAC’s multi-mineral complex. They’re beautiful highlighters for both the face and body and give the skin a radiant finish.
Mist brush your brush with MAC’s Prep + Prime Fix + before applying to the cheekbones for a more intense, metallic highlight.
MAC COSMETICS EYE SHADOW
MAC’s eyeshadows will always be one of the best MAC Cosmetics products to buy. They’re nicely pigmented, long-wearing and easy to blend. They come in so many beautiful shades and textures too, and can also be used wet or dry.

Some shades you need in your collection are Soft Brown (soft golden peachy-brown), Saddle (golden orange brown), Woodwinked (warm antiqued gold), Wedge (soft muted beige-taupe), and Shroom (soft shimmery beige, perfect for highlighting the brow bone or inner corner).
