How to Create a More Productive Workspace

Minimal Workspace Office

My workspace plays such an important role in my week. It’s where I spend hours upon hours each day so it’s important to me that it’s visually pleasing and allows me to work at my best and feel inspired. Below are a few simple tips to elevate your workspace and create a more productive environment.

1. Declutter

I like to start off my day looking at a clean, organised space. It helps me to collect my thoughts, focus and organise my tasks and to-dos more clearly.  There’s nothing worse than starting off a work day looking at a heap of junk and with the added task on your to-do list of finding a home for it all. Make it a rule to remove any clutter and loose ends from your work space at the end of each day.

2. Use a To-Do List / Weekly Planner

I’m a very visual person when it comes to my daily and weekly tasks. Physically writing my tasks down each day reinforces what I need to accomplish that day and week, along with helping me to prioritise. Being able to see your to-dos at a glance will help you remain focused and on track (procrastination is not your friend!).

3. Get some Desk Storage

As much as I dislike having to hold onto bits of paper, sometimes it’s unavoidable. I always have a paper tray on my desk to keep my press releases, invites, and other paper matter somewhere that’s out of the way yet accessible.

4. Make It Aesthetically Pleasing

Along with being a space where daily tasks get done and hundreds of emails pumped out, my workspace also needs to be a source of inspiration. Given a workspace is something that you will look at on the daily, add a touch of your personality to it with books, candles and cute stationary.

5. Go Green

Office plants are great at filtering the air and studies have shown they can increase productivity (and let’s be real, they’re nice to look at). Opt for something low maintenance that doesn’t need to be watered daily.

6.Use a Diary

Lastly, if you aren’t already, use a diary to keep track of deadlines and organise your life. I prefer to use a physical diary to write things down in but I also use the calendar on my iPhone so I can check what I have on when I don’t have my diary with me.

I agree that organization is key! Love your style and I also keep a paper notebook for to do lists, it helps me so much to check things off. Love your style always! Minimizing is one of my goals this year.

This post is absolutely fabulous dear! I really think de-cluttering and writing things down as they come to mind help me not only focus more but plan out my steps in completing tasks and achieving my goals. So thanks for the share hun! Btw I love how you use the copper glass case as pen storage, how creative! :) xo~ Lena
