15 Must-Have Hair Products

  The Best Hair Products

Since moving to Sydney my hair has been struggling with the humidity! I’ve been trying out a bunch of new products over the last couple of months and thought I would put together a post featuring some new and old hair lifesavers. I’ve narrowed it down to 15 must-have hair products to get your hair looking its best yet.

Cloud Nine – The Orignial Iron

I have to admit I’ve always been a GHD girl, but after trying out this Cloud 9 iron last month I’m converted! Suitable for all hair types, this does an amazing job at straightening my hair and is so quick and easy to use. I also use this for curling. This iron heats up super quick and has different temperature settings which is great as you can create styles using lower temperatures if you prefer, meaning less damage to your hair. I also tried out The Waving Wand which also amazing and perfect for someone who prefers to curl with a wand rather than a straightening iron.

Moroccanoil Heat Styling Protection Spray

While we’re on the topic of heat styling, a heat protector for your hair is a must, particularly for those of us who use heat on out hair on a regular basis. I’m a massive fan of Moroccanoil products and I love this heat protector. It helps to prevent breakage and split ends, whilst UV filters shield hair from the elements.

Moroccanoil Orignial Oil Treatment

I’ve been using Moroccanoil’s Oil Treatment for years and it’s still my favourite hair treatment. I literally always have one of these on the go (it’s a cult product for a reason!). It’s lightweight formula is suitable for all hair types although Moroccanoil does make a light version of this oil. I have quite fine hair and I still use the original version. This oil helps to condition and strengthen your hair whilst giving it a nice shine. It also helps to reduce drying time which I love as I’m often too lazy to blowdry my hair.

Kevin.Murphy Angel Masque

Great for fine hair, this Angel mask works to repair and thicken with  Quinoa Proteins, Tripeptides, Lotus Flower and Bamboo extracts. Simply apply to washed hair and leave in for 5-10 minutes for silky smooth hair.

Remington Silk Italie Hair Dryer

I’ve been in the market for a good hairdryer for a while (I survived surprisingly long without one) and picked up this Remington one last month. This powerful 2300 watt hair dryer is great quality and dries my hair really quickly. It features Silk Ceramic Technology with real silk proteins, providing even heat distribution when drying.

Moroccanoil Frizz Control Spray

I sought this out for the humid Sydney weather and now rarely leave the house without using it. Just a few quick sprays help to tame frizz-prone hair without weighing it down. Great for all hair types and this really does make a difference for my hair.

Kevin.Murphy Un.Tangled Leave In Conditioner

This detangling, strengthening and restorative hair treatment also provides some heat protection. Formulated with a special complex of nourishing Australian Fruit extracts, I’ll always use this if my hair is tangled as it makes it so much easier to brush out, along with allowing your hair to retain moisture so it feels that extra bit more conditioned.

Toni & Guy Clease Dry Shampoo

I always have a dry shampoo on the go. They’re your saviour for for those mornings you really should have washed your hair but ran out of time/ got lazy. This Toni & Guy one is great as it absorbs any excess oil, leaves no white residue and also adds body and texture to the hair.

Trilogy Smooth & Nourish Shampoo and Conditioner

This duo is ideal for colour treated or heat damaged hair. They work to strengthen and protect hair along with cleansing your hair gently but effectively. Coconut and camellia nourish and replenish moisture; white tea delivers extra antioxidant protection and rosehip oil conditions for a healthy scalp and smooth, shiny, revitalised hair.

Toni & Guy Casual Sculpting Powder

A lifesaver for fine hair with no volume, this Sculpting Powder is super fine and creates volume and body in an instant. It absorbs quickly into hair, leaving no powdery looking finish. Dust directly at the roots of the hair to give texture and volume, leaving your hair ready to style. I’ll rarely do an up-do or hairstyle that needs volume without using this.

Moroccanoil Smoothing Shampoo and Conditioner

This is definiltey one of my favourite shampoo and conditioner sets. The duo features Moroccanoil’s proprietary AminoRenew ingredient which restores depleted amino acids to strengthen and align hair’s natural keratin structure. These are also infused with argan oil and argan butter to give smooth and healthy-looking hair.

TONI & GUY Nourish Reconstruction Mask

Perfect for when your hair needs that extra bit of love and deep conditioning. This mask leaves my hair feeling insanely soft and gives it added shine. It’s also such an affordable price and you can usually grab it on sale.

Kevin.Murphy Doo.Over

I’m a bit obsessed with this product at the moment. Doo.Over is a dry finishing hairspray with holding power. This means you get volume, texture and hold in one spray. It contains Tapioca Starch to leave the hair looking cleansed whilst also giving subtle shape. Essences of Virginian Cedar Wood and Patchouli scent and protect hair. As Doo.Over used a powder technology it means you won’t get a web of resin with multiple uses.

Toni & Guy Volume Plumping Mousse

Adds body and bounce to otherwise lifeless hair. I always run a mousse through my hair when I know I’ll be curling it as it gives it more texture and allows my hair to hold styles for longer. This is great for fine hair as it won’t weigh it down. Simply work the mousse in hair before heat styling from root to tip.
